My Husband - My Partner

Think about all the couples that you know.  How many of them actually "work" easily together and how many would you say simply "do their own thing"?

Among the couples that we associate with, on husband dotes on the wife - does whatever she wants to the point of even buying all the groceries and making sure he gets a supply of the candy and goodies that she likes.  Another couple, as they were getting close to retirement, kept saying they didn't know if they could be in the house with each other all day, every day.  WOW!  Another couple we knew years ago were ones that strictly did what they wanted to do individually --- he'd take his own vacation; she'd take her own vacation whenever and wherever they wanted to go, by themselves or with a friend.

I'm so thankful to say that my husband and I would be among those who "work easily" together.  Throughout all the years of our mail order / internet business we've worked together on things.  There are aspects of the business that he just automatically does, and other aspects that are my end (like the computer stuff).

We've both written several books - mine along the sewing / craft / pattern making line while his writings are on what he knows most about, sewing machine repair.  While working on the "Learn How To Sew" book, he did many of the drawings and added information so that it was totally a combined effort.

One of the many things I'm so proud of are the children's sewing cards that we made together.  I had a set that my mother had made when I was a child and I've always remembered how I'd use them while she was sewing at the "real" sewing machine.  Anyway I made a set of basic sewing cards, but it was his idea to make several different styles of cards so people could choose according to what their interests might be, like the Space Sewing Cards, Cowboy Sewing Cards, Sea Scene Sewing Cards, Farm Sewing Cards, Circus Sewing Cards, etc.  We got to work making the cards and he did all the coloring and decorating of them while I was getting them online and ready to sell.

I'm thankful to have a husband that I can live with, work with and have fun with and that we're compatible in all these things.
