Neighborhood Yard Sale

Last Saturday was the semi-annual subdivision yardsale, and of course we had a bunch of "stuff" to sell.  With the quadruplet grandbabies, we have a never ending supply of outgrown kids clothes and toys, and this was no exception.

Jacob, the 5 year old big brother, LOVES yardsales, and this was the second time he's had his own table, and everything he sold went into his coffee can "cash register".

This time I did something a little different.  In addition to all the "yardsale" items, I set up a table of "gift" items -- new things that I'd made the last couple weeks specifically for this yard sale.  I always have a big fabric scrap stash as well as scraps of leather and suede.  I went through the Sewing With Leather book and checked patterns that I'd downloaded from Patterns2Go to see what I could make easily, quickly and "cheaply" to put out for inexpensive "new" items that people could use for Christmas gifts.  By noon I was wishing I'd spent a little more time making gift items, as that table was the most popular.  Our customers got some really GREAT deals - I used up some of my scraps and made some extra money from my "gift" table, so we were all happy!
